Personalised retirement gifts

We hand-picked every gift in this guide from the range we stock. We chose each one for who it suits and what it does. Pint glasses and tankards suit dads and beer lovers, while pen sets and hip flasks suit a dad, a groom or a whisky lover. Garden gifts suit gardeners, and travel mugs also suit colleagues.

We also chose a mix of kinds and budgets, so there is something for many people. Check each gift for what you can add, such as a name, a year or a short message, before you order.

Personalised pint glasses and tankards make a good retirement gift because the name and words are chosen for one person. Each piece is made to order and carries the name or message you add. Pick a glass or a steel tankard to suit them.

Personalised Pint Glass, Established Rosette (£9.95)

A keepsake they'll hold on to. You add a year and a name, while 'EST' stays fixed, which gives this pint glass a classic feel. It comes in a silver folding gift box, ready to hand over at a retirement do or birthday. Use plain letters and numbers, as we can't print accents or most symbols. The name prints in capitalised text as standard.

Best for: Beer lovers and retirement toasts.

Personalised Pint Glass, Free Text in Capitals (£9.95)

A good-humoured gift with room for a message. You write two short lines, which print in fixed uppercase, so keep the wording punchy. It comes in a silver folding gift box, ready for a birthday or a pint-loving friend. Use plain letters and numbers, as we can't print accents, emoji or most symbols. Hand wash is recommended.

Best for: Friends and pint lovers.

Stainless Steel Personalised Diamond Tankard (£32.95)

Something they'll show off with pride. A strong pick for Father's Day or a birthday, this Diamond tankard is made from stainless steel, an alternative to pewter. Each one is made just for them, so check the spelling. You add a name and a three-line message, and we can't print accents or most symbols, so use plain letters and numbers.

Best for: Dads and milestone birthdays.

Personalised Pint Tankard, Simply The Best (£14.95)

An easy win for Father's Day, and a fine way to mark a retirement. The trophy design is engraved on this pint tankard, and the words 'You're Simply the Best' are fixed. You add their name on the top line and a short message on the two lines below. Check the spelling before you order, as it's made just for them.

Best for: Champions on Father's Day.

Personalised Tankard, Engraved Stainless Steel (£32.95)

A great gift idea for them, and a good choice for a retirement. Ideal for a birthday or Father's Day, this stainless steel tankard holds approx. 500 ml. Its engraved message can run to four lines, and it's an alternative to pewter. Please avoid all capitals, as the font makes them hard to read, and use plain letters and numbers.

Best for: Anniversaries and birthdays.

Both personalised pens and hip flasks suit a colleague or boss who deserves a thoughtful send-off. Each one is made to order with the name or short message you type. What ties them together is a useful, personal keepsake they'll think of you when they use.

Chrome Pen and Box Set, Personalised Engraving (£19.95)

A keepsake they'll hold on to. This chrome plated ball point pen comes in a box lined inside, so it looks ready to give. It suits a colleague who's retiring. Made with your words, so check the spelling before you finish. Its three engraved lines leave room for a name, a date or a short thank you, which makes it feel personal.

Best for: A retiring colleague or boss.

Personalised Pen and Box Set, Scroll Ball Point (£19.95)

A clever desk companion. The message is engraved on the chrome plated case, and line 1 prints larger, so the first line stands out. The words sit on the chrome plated case. It comes in a lined pen box, and the pen measures 14 cm x 1 cm. Please use plain letters and numbers, as we can't print accents, emoji or most symbols.

Best for: Practical bosses and colleagues.

Personalised Black Hip Flask Geometric Initial (£12.95)

A charming pick for them. This black stainless steel hip flask holds 6 oz and has a two-tone engraved effect. You can add one initial and a name, so it reads like theirs. Names are case sensitive, so check the spelling before you order. It's a smart pick for a colleague who enjoys a dram at the leaving do. It comes in a silk lined presentation box.

Best for: Leaving dos and nights out.

Engraved Whisky Hip Flask, Personalised (£12.95)

An easy win for a retirement toast. This stainless steel whisky hip flask holds 6oz and is engraved with a name, an initial and a year. The lines are in fixed uppercase, and the wording is already set on the flask. Check the name and year before you finish, as it's made just for them. It comes in its own presentation box, ready to give.

Best for: Whisky lovers and retirement toasts.

Personalised mugs and signs make people smile when the words are all about them. Three picks stand out: a golfer's mug, a home sign and a slate garden sign, each with a name or message just for them.

Ceramic Golfer Mug, Personalised No.1 (£9.95)

A gift for the kitchen they'll use: this ceramic mug turns every cup of tea into a small golf trophy. The front carries their name, and the back has a short personal message beneath the fixed words 'No.1 Golfer' and 'Awarded to'. It's a natural pick for a golf fan marking their retirement, and because it prints exactly as typed, check the spelling first.

Best for: Golf fans marking retirement.

Staying Inn Metal Sign for Home, Personalised (£14.95)

A gift that fits on any wall at home: this aluminium sign shows the words 'The Staying Inn', with two lines of personal text printed below in capitals. It's made for inside or outside display, so they can choose the spot. Fixings aren't supplied, but double sided adhesive tabs are recommended. It's a warm pick for a retiree who loves having friends and family to stay.

Best for: Retirees who love hosting.

Personalised Beer Garden Hanging Slate Sign (£12.95)

A stylish upgrade for the garden: this slate sign hangs on natural string and carries the fixed words Beer Garden. You add a top line, a name and two message lines, all printed in capitals. At 22 x 20 x 0.5 cm, it's a neat size for a friend who loves a garden beer, and the message can be all about them.

Best for: Friends who love a garden beer.

The best personalised garden gifts for a keen gardener are the ones they will see or use often. From a travel mug to a solar light that says welcome after dark, each adds a name or short message to something they'll notice every day.

Personalised Travel Mug, Head Gardener (£14.95)

A good-humoured gift for the one who is never without a cup. Their name sits above the fixed words 'Head Gardener', so the title is written right there. The stainless steel mug holds 400 ml and has a screw-top lid with a sliding sip cover, designed to reduce spills. Choose the travel mug or thermal mug style to suit how they like to sip.

Best for: Gardeners who love a daily brew.

Personalised Natural Slate Garden Sign, Floral (£9.95)

If they love their garden, this is the one. The natural slate is cut by hand, with a floral design and room for a bold first line and three more lines of your own words. Each slate is unique, with its own texture and natural variation, so no two are quite the same. It comes with natural rustic string, ready to hang wherever they like.

Best for: Nature lovers and keen gardeners.

Personalised Garden Hanging Slate Plaque (£9.95)

A gift with a story, because each slate is cut by hand and no two are the same. The plaque is 25 x 9.5 x 0.5 cm and has three lines of your choice, printed in capitals. It makes a lovely birthday gift for a mum or dad who loves their garden. It comes with natural rustic string, ready to hang straight away.

Best for: Birthdays for a garden-loving parent.

Personalised Outdoor Garden Sign Solar Light (£29.95)

Bright, cheerful and easy to love, this solar light needs no batteries or wires. The sign reads 'Welcome to... garden helpers welcome', with one line of your own in capitals. Push the ground stick into the ground or a pot, or fix the sign to a wall with the screws included. Press and hold the button for 5 seconds to switch it on, then a short press changes the light mode.

Best for: Garden lovers with a new home.

1. Type your words on the gift's page: a name, a date or a short message. Each box shows its character limit as you type, and a tag above the boxes shows your exact words before you add the gift to your basket.
2. A UK maker personalises it to order, printing or engraving exactly what you typed. Please check spelling, capitals and dates: we print the words as they are.
3. It's sent by tracked delivery, to you or straight to them.

We can't print accents, emoji or most symbols, so the boxes accept letters, numbers and simple punctuation. If a personalised gift arrives damaged, faulty or not as you typed it, we remake it or refund it in full (returns).
